Pregnancy Bump Date Simply Nicole 22 Weeks

Well, well, well. Monday is here again. If you live in the Philadelphia area, it’s rainy and muggy out today. Fall weather, where are you?!

I had a pretty productive weekend and I’m definitely not ready for the work week to start. Early Saturday morning, Bryan and I went to the Race for Hope in Philly, which is an event that we’ve done for the past 7 years in memory of my mom. It’s a walk/race to raise money for brain cancer research. I mentioned this on Instagram … but I can’t stress this enough – find a charitable organization that you’re passionate about and support it every single year. It’s so incredibly rewarding. Yesterday, I ran a bunch of errands, did my laundry, put away summer clothes, cleaned the nursery, and even took a nap. Pretty successful!

But now it’s time for my weekly bump date. It’s crazy how quickly these weeks are going by. Baby girl will be here before we know it! If you missed it, here is last week’s announcement/21 week bump date.

22 Week Bump Date

Baby is the size of an: ear of corn  {approximately 11 inches long and 1 pound}

Gender: Little lady

Names: We’re 100% set on a name, but we’re keeping it a secret. We’ve been saying her name more often at home, and I’m nervous I’m going to slip up and tell someone. To other people, we just call her Baby Girl or Baby R {for Raudonis}.

What I’m Wearing: Does anyone actually like buying maternity clothes? I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m going to buy the bare minimum to get me through the next few months. My maternity uniform has been skinny jeans or leggings with a long top and cardigan. Target has been a huge lifesaver. Their Ingrid & Isabel line is really affordable and high quality. Specifically, I’ve been stocking up on really great base layers:

My work flats have seen better days, so I decided it was time to buy a new pair. As much as I’d like to drop hundreds of dollars on Gucci slides, there’s just no way that’s going to happen. So, I ended up getting a knock-off pair of backless loafers from Target for $22! They are really comfortable and pair well with work clothes, jeans, whatever.

My sister-in-law gave rave reviews on this cozy sweatshirt, so I bought one in green this week too. Aside from Target, I really like the options from Loft. During the 50% off sale last week, I bought this extra long cardigan {non-maternity} and this white maternity blouse for work.

Sickness/Pain: I’ve been a bit crazy lately with the hand sanitizer, because I’m so paranoid about getting a cold. I had a fever during weeks 8/9 and it was the absolute worst. There’s a very limited amount of medication you can take while pregnant, so I’m trying my best to avoid cold season this year. In terms of pain, earlier this week I was having a lot of hip pain on my right side. Doctor said it was completely normal and to continue prenatal yoga and to switch the side that I sleep on. I feel better now, but I hear that joint pain will get worse as baby keeps growing.

Cravings: Ok, so this isn’t the healthiest thing, but in the past week I’ve been really craving cookies and cream milkshakes from Wawa. You can get them anywhere, but the version from Wawa is the best. Totally worth the calories. Bryan tried one and he agreed that they are really delicious. Other things I’ve been craving lately are purple grapes, lemonade {still!}, Special K cereal, and grilled cheese sandwiches. Gosh, this post is making me hungry. #preggoproblems.

Aversions: None.

Favorite Products: Aside from The Happiest Baby on the Block, I’m loving the same products as last week: Snoogle pillow, the Ovia and Baby Center apps, my Contigo water bottleUgg slippers, and my pregnancy journal

Best Moment this Week: My two favorite moments this week were feeling her move around {see below} and making progress on her nursery.

Sleeping: No trouble in this department. I’ve been much more tired lately, so I’ve been giving myself the rest that I need.

Rings: Rings are still on. Luckily, I’m not swelling up yet.

Baby Movement: When we had our 20 week ultrasound, I was kind of bummed that I could see baby girl moving on the screen but not feel her just yet. That all changed this week when I started getting a popping bubble feeling in my belly at work one day in the afternoon. I didn’t think anything of it at first, but then remembered that my doctor told me that sometimes that’s what kicks feel like at first. I gently pushed on my belly and she actually kicked back! It was really cool. Her kicks are definitely getting stronger, but they don’t happen too often – maybe a few times each day. It’s so cool though!

Labor Signs: Thankfully, no labor signs. Baby needs to stay in there quite a bit longer.

Looking Forward To: Oh wow, there’s so many things to look forward to, but lately I’ve been really getting excited/anxious about the nursery. We have most of the big items ordered, but there’s still so much to do and buy {i.e. ordering crib, curtains and rug}.
