28 week bump date

Hi hi! Happy Tuesday. I know this bump date is a day late, but you’ll have to forgive me. Things have been very busy around here. For starters, my shower was on Sunday and it was such a wonderful day. I’ll go into more detail below, but I spent hours over the past two days assembling our gifts and trying to find places in our nursery for things. Other than that, this past week has been pretty low-key. I’m still attending my weekly prenatal yoga classes, which have been amazing. I love taking time out of the day just for myself, and it’s nice to meet other moms to be. It’s a safe haven where we can all talk about the ups and downs of pregnancy! If you’re pregnant, I highly recommend taking prenatal yoga. So many benefits. Maybe I’ll do a whole post? Is that something you’d be interested in? Let me know.

Alright, let’s hop right into this week’s bump date. I’m officially in my 3rd trimester!

28 Week Bump Date

Baby is the Size of a: coconut {16 inches long, 2.5 pounds}

Gender: Little lady.

Names: A lot of people wanted to know the name at my shower, but we’re still keeping it a secret until baby gets here. I’m thrilled that Bryan and I still love the name just as much as we did when we picked it out. We use it every day when talking to the baby… and it just feels right.

How I’m Feeling: Feeling good for the most part. I’m still tired all day long, but I don’t think that’s ever going to change… especially once she gets here. I’m just dealing it with! I do get bursts of energy, like this past weekend when I had to assemble items from my shower the minute I got home. And then yesterday I put together the last two things and wrote all my thank you cards. I try to take advantage of the energy when I have it, because there are many days when all I want to do after work is take a shower and go to sleep.

In terms of things that are bothering me… I had some painful leg cramps this past week when I would wake up. They felt like charley horses in both calf muscles. The pain went away after I started walking around, but it was still really annoying. I read that it can be good to stretch before bed, but please let me know if you have any other tips.

Recent Purchases: I haven’t purchased anything new this past week, since I knew we would get a lot of goodies at my shower. Plus, I’m waiting for all the great Black Friday deals to start pouring in.

Cravings: Lots of fruit and cereal. I’m also craving stuffing – Thanksgiving is near!

Aversions: None.

Best Moment this Week: My baby shower was such a great day. I loved being surrounded by some of my closest family and friends. Everyone “showered” baby with the most thoughtful presents! I plan on doing a whole blog post recapping the details of the event, so keep an eye out for that next week.

Sleeping: Instead of waking up once a night to go to the bathroom, I’ve been going twice which has been annoying. Luckily, I’m able to fall right back to sleep afterward, so it’s not disrupting things too much. Other than that, I’m still sleeping fine without much hip pain. The Snoogle is AMAZING!

Rings: are on!

Baby Movement: Lots of movement! She’s still really low, so I don’t feel any kicks in my ribs just yet. I’m sure they will come soon enough.

Labor Signs: None, but the Braxton Hicks are back. I don’t get them too often – maybe once a week. It’s still enough to force me to lie down and try to breathe through them. It happened last night for about 25-30 minutes.

Looking Forward to: Taking advantage of Black Friday sales at Babies R Us and Pottery Barn Kids, packing our hospital bags, taking a CPR class, and touring our hospital.
