A Little Bit of Motivation

When I run races it’s the little things that give me motivation to keep going.  Whether it’s my favorite song that pops up on my iPod or seeing a girl run past me in Uggs (yes, it happened), I somehow find the extra burst of energy to keep going.

No, Miley didn’t run past me in a race.  But a girl wearing her outfit did once…

There are times when I’m running in a race and I need all the help I can get.  I remember when I was running the , someone shouted out my name and told me to keep going.  It helped a lot!  So, when a company called Signs on the Cheap contacted me and asked if I’d like to test out their sign making program, I couldn’t say no.  What’s better than having high quality with fun sayings all over them?

I made 3 signs in total and two of which I could use not only at the Philadelphia half marathon, but also at other shorter races.  Thank you to my lovely friends who were my models last night.

My signs are made from corrugated plastic, so they are super durable for all the races they will be attending, and are 18” x 24” in size.

I really enjoyed making these, because the design system was extremely easy to use.  You have the option of using some of their designs (such as the woman runner graphic I used) or uploading your own.  At first I wasn’t sure if I wanted to promote my blog name on the signs, but then figured, “Why the heck not?!”

I can’t wait to bring these to my next race, which will be the !  By the way, don’t forget that if you want to join me and run the half, 10K, 5K or all three to use the promotional code: BLOGGER20 for 10% off your purchase.  It’s such a great deal.

Talk to Me

  • What motivates you during races?
  • Would you ever purchase signs or other items with your blog name on it?
  • What’s your favorite song to pump you up during a run?

Fun! I’ve never done this, but I think it would be awesome to see someone you know holding up a sign for you on the course.

Good luck this weekend and see you at the RW event!

Yes! It’s the best idea ever. I’m looking forward to seeing them in the crowd at the RW event! Are you doing all 3 races?

Love it!! And love you that you had the confidence and courage to promo your blog — you deserve it with all the hard work you put in!
I hope they work to motivate!
Right now, “My Body” by Young the Giant is a big motivator, and any Yellowcard song will get me running faster. But the concept of the FEELING of running strong and fast is what motivates me to run with more strength and speed — if that makes any sense at all ..? haha. 🙂

That’s so cool that you have these companies reaching out to you for products – you are so inspiring! And I love keeping up with your half marathon journey – I think you will rock it! 🙂 🙂

these signs are awesome! I wish I had some spectators come to my races and hold these! It would definitely give me some extra motivation! I don’t know if I would ever buy these though I would just make them!

love the signs!!! what a great idea!

Ooooh I love the signage!!!!!
I need to just make then for me for life 🙂
