It’s the time of year again, friends.  When you make your new years resolutions and try to stick to them as long as possible.  Since many of you probably set healthy living goals for 2014, I wanted to let you know some of the best fitness apps that I’ve found.  So if you’re interested in this type of thing, keep reading!

MyFitnessPal, FREE, Click to Download

MyFitnessPal is pretty easy to use and is great for keeping track of your cardio training, strength training and your food intake.  If you’re looking to lose weight, this app is perfect because you can set specific weight loss goals and track your calories for each day.

Map My Run, FREE, Click to Download

Map My Run is my GPS of choice when deciding which routes to run outside.  The app enables you to use the built-in GPS of your cell phone to record your workout details including duration of your run, distance, pace speed, elevation, calories burned and route traveled.  Although it does have a lot of different capabilities, I honestly only use this app to find a new running route because I think it works perfectly.

Charity Miles, FREE, Click to Download

Charity Miles is a somewhat newer app that I recently found.  This app allows you to actually earn money and raise awareness for charities by walking, running or biking!  First, just pick a charity and then start exercising!  You can earn 10¢ per mile for biking, 25¢ per mile for walking, and 25¢ per mile for running.  So if you have nothing else motivating you to run, get out there and earn some money for a great charity.  Charities include ASPCA, Wounded Warrior Project, Autism Speaks, Feeding America, and Stand Up to Cancer.

Nike+, FREE, Click to Download

Nike+ is my running app of choice to track my distance, pace, time and calories.  Similar to Map My Run, it uses the GPS in your cell phone to map your route.  It also has audio feedback so if you sync it up with your account, every time one of your friends “likes” your status about your run you’ll hear cheering in your headphones!  That’s probably one of the coolest things about this app in my opinion.  If you have a Nike+ FuelBand it integrates with that, but if you don’t that’s OK too.  I use it just for the app by itself.

Taryn @ Peace & Pizza

I use the first three religiously. I got a Polar watch for Christmas, which is making tracking my workouts even easier!

Chelsea @ A Fit LittleOne

I use “Electric Miles”, it hooks up with DailyMile. You can pick from running, biking, strength training, swimming, and I think others. I use it for running. I either run on a treadmill, or I use my garmin forerunner 10 when outside. My goal is to just get back on track with eating healthy. SO I’m doing the Paleo 30 day challenge again to help re-enforce healthy habits 🙂
