Magical Immune Booster Smoothie

First off, thank you to everyone who commented on my last post and reached out to me on social media. I love that you guys are here no matter what, and will stick by and continue reading even though I’m slowly perfecting my new WordPress theme. You guys rock.

Ok, back to normal programming.

I’ve been almost getting sick for weeks now. You know what I mean… When everyone else around you has a cold, and you sometimes show symptoms but other days you feel great. It’s super annoying because I’d rather get sick, be done with it, and move along with life. But for whatever reason that’s not the case recently, so I’ve been doing everything in my power to boost my immune system. I’ve been upping my vitamin C, taking colloidal silver sprays, drinking lots of peppermint tea, and doing some other fun holistic techniques that I’ll talk about in an upcoming post.

Today, I’m sharing a recipe for a magical immune booster smoothie! I think you’ll really enjoy it whether you’re battling a cold or you just want to prevent any nasty sickness from entering your life.

What makes this smoothie magical?

It’s all in the ingredients, baby. And this recipe calls for the absolute best.

  • Kale: My end all be all when it comes to superfoods. You can do a million things with it, and it’s SO good for you. Aside form being packed with immune-boosting vitamin C, it also helps with digestion and lowers cholesterol.
  • Drinkable yogurt: After seeing Siggi’s all over Instagram, I decided that I had to find out what all the fuss was about. It’s all the rage in Sweden, and it’s really delicious. An 8oz serving has 8g of protein and no artificial sweeteners. Check out this ingredient list: pasteurized skim milk, organic agave nectar, Madagascar  bourbon vanilla, & 1 billion live active cultures {probiotics}.
  • Chia seeds: These little guys are packed with fiber and omega-3s, and will boost your energy if you are feeling under the weather.
  • Banana: We all know that bananas are high in potassium, but they also improve mood, regulate blood sugar, and reduce PMS symptoms.
  • Pineapple: High in vitamin C, manganese {important for antioxidant defenses}, and thiamin {involved in energy production}.
  • Mango: High in vitamins C and A, plus 25 different kinds of carotenoids that keep your immune system healthy.

kale with mint, parsley, fresh turmeric, fresh ginger water, 2 apples and of course lemon, peel and all works for me.

I make a similar recipe, but sub Coconut for the yogurt, to keep it tropical and dairy free, and add protein powder to make it a meal.

Is there a non dairy option that will work just as good as the drinkable yogurt?

Almond milk would be just as good!

This is totally what we do here too.
Except I toss some hemp in on top 🙂

oo, I love hemp seeds! I’ll need to add those next time. Thanks, Carla 🙂
