On My Radar: Coats

Best Winter Coats

I’ve never been much of a coat fanatic. Sure, they keep me warm in the winter, but I’ve never gone out of my way to look for the perfect one. Case in point: I bought my last winter coat almost 5 years ago. For whatever reason, this year I’m all about them. Here are some that are currently on my radar.

1. Teddy Coat, Free People: Is this not the coziest coat you’ve ever laid eyes on? I have this “teddy” robe from TopShop that I wear basically all winter long, so when I saw this coat from Free People I knew I had to feature it here. It looks like the perfect choice for running errands, and is a bit more mature than my North Face Denali.

2. Chateau Parka, J.Crew: I’ve had my eye on this coat since it was added to the J.Crew website earlier this season. My sister-in-law has last year’s version, but I love this year’s addition of the hood. The fur is removable, which makes this coat even more versatile. I don’t own anything in this mustard color, but I’ve been really gravitating toward it this fall.

3. Textured Cocoon Coat, Old Navy: This coat has been going in and out of stock all week! I knew it would be popular, especially since it was on sale  last weekend for $60. I’m loving light gray everything lately, and this coat fits the bill.

4. Toggle Coat, Old Navy: Toggle coats are pretty trendy, so I’m glad this one from Old Navy comes in at under $90. It’s a great addition to anyone’s coat collection! I love the faux-fur hood and of course the toggle closure.

5. Gotham Down Parka, The North Face: When it snows in the northeast, it SNOWS. No joking around. I don’t own a snow coat, but I’ve have been eyeing a few from The North Face. This one is lined with 550-fill down insulation, which is sure to keep me nice and warm this winter season.

6. Contrast Sleeve Boucle Coat, Kenneth Cole: I love coats with contrasting sleeve, because it adds some texture and uniqueness to an otherwise boring coat.

I own 1,000,001 casual fleece down coats. But invite me someplace fancy? I have nothing to put on top of myself 🙂
