Weekend Recap (9/18- 9/20)

Happy Monday, friends. I woke up this morning with a killer headache that I hope goes away soon. Headaches are the worst because they just linger. In other news, Pete is sleeping next to me right now and snoring away. LOL! He’s the cutest.

For today’s post, I thought it would be fun to do a Weekend Recap. It’s been over a year since my last Weekend Recap post, so this is way overdue. As always, leave a comment below and let me know what you did over the weekend. I love reading your comments!

Whole Foods Supper Club

Friday

On Friday night, Bryan and I were invited to attend a Supper Club at our local Whole Foods store. It was the first Supper Club at our store, so we were excited to check it out. The event invite said “cocktail attire” so we got dressed up and headed over to the store for a delicious dinner served family style on the roof. There were 10 of us there, which was the perfect amount of people to enjoy a night of great food, music and conversation.

Whole Foods Supper Club

Bryan and I were pleasantly surprised to see both vegetarian and meat options on the menu. Up first was a collard and kale salad topped with a homemade vinegar dressing. It was really yummy! They served two versions of the salad. One with cheese and one with coconut flakes. Bryan and I both actually preferred the coconut one, which is shocking because we love parm. The coconut on top was really unique and added a great sweet flavor to offset the vinegar.

The second course was stuffed acorn squash, which was my favorite dish from the night. I need to get the recipe and share it with you all, because it was THAT good. I think it was stuffed with rice, mushrooms and greens. Either way, it was delicious. I love squash this time of year, but never tried making stuffed acorn squash. I’m putting this on my to-do list very soon.

The third course had vegetarian and meat options, as well as two vegetables (cauliflower mash and asparagus). Bryan had the pork tenderloin, while I had portobello steaks. Both were really good. I loved that the portobellos were on the smaller side. They were cooked perfectly and went well with the cauliflower mash. Cauliflower mash is another dish that I love eating when I’m out, but I’ve never tried cooking it myself. It seems easy to make!

Dessert was Riesling poached pears, which smelled exactly like fall. I loved how soft and sweet the pears were, but agreed with most of the guests that it would have been even better with a touch of ice cream.

Bryan and I will certainly be coming back to Supper Club. The food was delicious and we enjoyed chatting with new friends.

Prive Salon

Saturday

On Saturday morning, I had a hair appointment at Prive Salon and Style Bar in Newtown Square, PA. The salon is absolutely stunning. Everything from the decor to the massage shampoo chairs were on point. I got a trim and balayage and I’m really pleased with how it turned out. I’ll be doing a full post on my experience at the salon later this week. Keep an eye out for it!

Sunday

On Sunday, we went to brunch and walked around the King of Prussia Mall with Bryan’s mom. I didn’t do much shopping, but we did purchase two fall candles from Bath and Body Works – Autumn and Sweater Weather. I also picked out a vest and booties to add to my birthday and Christmas wishlist.

After a long day at the mall, Bryan and I were starving. We decided to order take-out from a nearby Chinese restaurant. In all the years that we’ve lived together on our own, we never ordered Chinese food. You can really mess up Chinese food and we didn’t want to get sick. The place we ate on Sunday got rave reviews online and from friends, so we knew it would be good. It didn’t disappoint!
