What I’ve Been Up To

Before I get into this post, I wanted to remind you to enter my Drenched 5K giveaway.  You have to live in the Philadelphia area or be willing to travel to Philly in August for the race.  Contest ends next Wednesday.

During the week, sometimes life is crazy.  I forget to take blog photos, I don’t spend enough time doing things just for me, I don’t get nearly enough fresh air.  I’ve been taking each day as it comes, but I know I want to do more things outside in the upcoming months.  The weather here has been rainy off and on, so I need to start taking advantage of the warm sunny days as much as possible.

So what have I been doing?

Hydrating at work!  You know I have a major issue with drinking enough water, but I’ve been drinking a lot of coconut water lately, and I love it!  I like to pair my morning coffee with coconut water, in order to give my body the hydration that it desperately needs.  (If you didn’t know, caffeine actually dehydrates your body).  Eventually I’ll give up my daily cup of coffee, but for now I do what I can.  My favorite brand of coconut water at the moment is one that I pick up at Starbucks – Evolution Fresh.  I like the pineapple coconut version.  They also carry a lot of really interesting cold-pressed juices.  I haven’t tried them yet, but when I do I’ll let you know what I think.

Reading lots of wedding magazines.  Now that we have a venue and a caterer, I’m spending time going back and looking at my wedding magazines to find a good photographer.  We don’t have a huge budget, but I want something very specific in a photographer.  I love the candid photographers, nothing too staged!  By the way – yesterday I sent in the deposit for our DJ, so we have that booked now too.  Super excited to be moving forward on some of these big wedding decisions.  Next step is photographer and going dress shopping!  Things are finally starting to come together.

Taking time in the mornings to write a daily affirmation or quote.  I just started doing this and I think it’s a great thing for everyone to do.  It takes literally just a few minutes to either 1) write your own thoughts down or 2) find an inspirational quote online.  I like doing this to start my day off on the right foot.

Talk to Me

  • What have you been up to lately?
  • Do you write in a daily journal?  What do you write about?
  • What’s one thing you want to get done this week just for you?

Beginning the day with a quote is such an awesome idea! I’ve been having a hard time getting back into journaling so this can help 🙂

I’ve been trying to do more things outside, just be more active lol. I’ve thought about getting a journal and writing my thoughts down, but just haven’t taken the step yet. For me, I’ve been allowing myself some down time in the afternoon, watch a quick movie or read, then that’s when I usually go for a bike ride or walk 🙂

I love those evolution drinks!

Hi Nicole! Love your blog. I’m getting married in Philly too but am looking for a DJ and photographer. Would you mind sharing who you went with?
