Easy and Inexpensive Solution for Storing Measuring Cups

in Home on 10/14/14 | 7 Comments

Good morning! Today I’m bringing to you a quick project I did late last night - an easy and inexpensive solution for storing measuring cups.

We have very limited space in our kitchen. Since we don’t have a pantry, we are forced to use most of the space in our kitchen cabinets for food. While I was organizing my pots and pans a few weeks ago, I realized that there were many spaces in our kitchen that go unused, including the backs of cabinet doors! If you have a small kitchen like I do, the backs of cabinet doors are the perfect spot to hang smaller items such as measuring cups and oven mitts.

You only need to purchase one item - a pack of 3M Command hooks! I used the small wire hooks in white, but they also make a clear version as well. Since we’re renting our apartment, I don’t like drilling too many holes if I don’t have to. Command hooks are a renter’s dream product, because you can easily remove them when you are finished and there are no nails involved. I think I have an addiction to them. I have purchased dozens of them (in various sizes and colors) over the past few months and keep finding new and exciting ways to use them. (Yes, you read that correctly. I think Command hooks are exciting. Hey! It makes me happy!)

Aside from being easy to use, they were very inexpensive. For a pack of seven, I paid less than $7 at Target. Who said organizing had to be super sophisticated and expensive? Whatever works for you!

I use mine a lot too and I was just tired of cramming them into a drawer!

That’s a cute idea. I just have my measuring cups in a drawer right now.

I used to have mine in a drawer and it kept getting stuck because they were too big. SO happy to give them their own “home”

What a great way to use the space on the inside of a door-and inexpensive, too! Thanks for linking up at the Pretty Preppy Party!
